The construction of Khandoli Park started in the year 1995 and this park was opened to the public in 1999. This park is one of the major attractions of Giridih district. A fair is organized here every year. This park is spread over 6 acres (2.4 hectares), which has the facility of joy rides in toy trains and swings.

Khandoli Park is in the northern-eastern part of Jharkhand. It is located about 10 kilometers from Giridih city, near a small mountain that looks like a flame. The height of the mountain is about 600 feet. There is a lake adjacent to the mountain and the park.

Many species of birds come here from the country and abroad. This lake reservoir is used for water adventure activities like scuba diving, rafting, canoeing, sailing, kayaking, ringo ride, waterskiing and surfing by paddle boat, speed boat and water scooter.

Every year thousands of migratory birds reach Khandoli Lake after traveling thousands of kilometers from North Asia, Himalayan belt, Africa and Australia. Cormorants, Siberian ducks, Siberian cranes, Brahminy shelducks, bar-headed goose and mallards are among the species that migrate to the dam for breeding.

The migration of birds generally begins from the second week of November every year for warmer climates and returns around March. About forty different species of birds come to Khandoli, but their numbers have decreased in the last few years due to pollution and poaching.

Apart from this, some animals like rabbits, guinea pigs, peacocks, owls etc. are also kept in cages in the amusement park.

Boating facility is available. For which some rules have been made. Which is mandatory for everyone to follow. For boating, the price of a 4-seat pedal boat is Rs 95. For 6 seats, it is Rs 142 and for a motor boat, Rs 590 is charged. There are some rules for those who cannot drive here on their own:

  1. Boating without a life jacket is strictly prohibited.
  2. Boating after consuming alcohol or drugs is strictly prohibited.
  3. More people than the capacity are not allowed to sit on the boat.
  4. The duration of the paddle boat is 20 minutes per ride.
  5. If the ride takes more than 20 minutes, an additional charge will be levied.
  6. It is strictly prohibited to enter the gate without a ticket.
