Lower Ghaghri Waterfall is the 33rd waterfall of India. Its height is about 320 feet i.e. 98 meters. It is situated on the Ghaghri river. Which is at Dihra, about 10 kilometers from Netarhat.

Lower Ghaghri Waterfall is located at a distance of about 10 km from Netarhat Hill Station in Latehar district of Jharkhand state. To reach here, you will have to cover about 7 to 8 km through dense forest. Where there is no hope of any kind of help.

The road passing through the dense forest is completely rough. There is no transport facility of any kind here. This huge waterfall hidden in nature is the 33rd highest waterfall in India. Its height is about 320 feet (98 meters). From where the sound of falling water can be heard from a distance.

Here the water level decreases during the summer season. This waterfall is located on Ghaghri, a tributary of the Auranga River.

Due to such dense forest and tall trees around this waterfall, many times the sunlight is not able to reach the waterfall properly. There is another waterfall with the same name. Upper Ghaghri waterfall is a small waterfall below the Netarhat dam, 4 kilometers (2.5 miles) from Netarhat.

Folk tales related to this waterfall are heard from the local people. People say that this waterfall is situated on the Ghaghri river since many years ago. The local tribal people used to see it from a distance while climbing the heights of the mountain. When the local forest department came to know about this, people coming here were banned from hunting. Later on inspecting this place, it was seen that water falls from a very high height here.

Then this waterfall was told to the local District Development Officer and he constructed a kutcha road for this place. Later some rules were made for the people coming here, which is mandatory for everyone to follow.

When Jharkhand Tourist Development Corporation came to know about this, it contributed to the development work here. Development work is going on here. Work is done from time to time.
