The Goa Tourism Department, in collaboration with TTAG, SKAL International Goa, and youth tourism clubs, has announced a month-long program of events leading up to World Tourism Day on September 27, 2025. The initiatives include heritage walks, biodiversity trails, culinary programs, and inclusive cruises, reflecting Goa’s focus on regenerative, sustainable, and community-driven tourism.

The Goa Tourism Department, in collaboration with the Travel and Tourism Association of Goa (TTAG), SKAL International Goa, and youth tourism clubs, has launched a series of immersive activities to commemorate World Tourism Day 2025. The month-long celebrations aim to highlight the state’s cultural heritage, biodiversity, culinary traditions, and commitment to inclusive and sustainable tourism.

The Honorable Minister of Tourism, Shri Rohan A. Khaunte said: “World Tourism Day celebrates the power of tourism to drive positive change. By partnering with TTAG, SKAL, and the Youth Tourism Club, we are not only showcasing Goa’s unique experiences but also nurturing a culture of responsible tourism among our youth, who are the future tourism ambassadors. This way, Goa establishes itself as a year-round destination for authentic, high-quality experiences.”

Furthermore, Director of Tourism, Mr. Kedar Naik, said: “These activities represent a holistic approach to tourism development. By combining heritage walks, nature trails, culinary sessions, inclusive cruises, and new initiatives, we are ensuring that tourism in Goa is sustainable, inclusive, and future-ready. This collaborative effort aims to attract tourists, enrich local communities, and empower the next generation.”

Highlights include a bioluminescence forest walk (September 17), a cruise and kayaking trail (September 18), a picnic along a forest stream in Folgar (September 19), the Monte Santo Heritage Walk (September 20), an evening river cruise and Aguad Heritage Walk (September 21), a Pao bread-making experience (September 22), and a Mulgao folk village and coconut farming experience (September 24).

Through youth tourism clubs, these activities are also being extended to schools and colleges to raise awareness about responsible travel among young people. Alongside the trails and walks, cooking competitions will be held at IIHM Goa (September 17-18) and IHM Goa (September 22-23), providing students and participants with an opportunity to experience the state’s culinary diversity.

On September 26 and 27, during the World Tourism Day week, inclusive cruises will be organized for persons with disabilities, senior citizens, and children from orphanages and special schools. On September 27th, the Tourism Department will also host Goa’s largest tourism stakeholders’ conference at the Grand Hyatt Goa, where the Vincent Ramos Scholarship will be awarded and the MICE Promotion Bureau for the state will be formally launched. The celebrations will conclude on September 28th with a day-long film festival at ESG, focusing on heritage, conservation, and sustainability.
