Built at a cost of Rs 168 crore, this park was named Janeshwar Mishra by SP chief Mulayam Singh Yadav after his son and UP CM Akhilesh Yadav. This park was built with the aim of providing facilities to 10,000 visitors weekly, promoting harmony among humans and between humanity and nature.

This park was inaugurated on 5 August 2014. The inspiration for Janeshwar Mishra Park is the model of Hyde Park in London. When the map of the park is turned upside down, it looks like an airplane.

Historical importance of Janeshwar Mishra Park

As Janeshwar Mishra Park, Uttar Pradesh Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav laid the foundation stone of the park on 6 August 2012. This park was the dream of UP SP Chief Mulayam Singh Yadav. He named it Janeshwar Mishra Park after his son who was the UP CM at that time.

At that time, a total cost of 168 crores was spent in building this park. This is an urban park. It is named in the memory of late Samajwadi Party politician Janeshwar Mishra. Today, this park is known as Asia’s largest and most beautiful park.

This park was inaugurated on 5 August 2014 and opened for urban people and tourists. The capacity of this park serves 10 thousand people daily.

Design of the park

The design of Janeshwar Mishra Park has been made on the model of Hyde Park of London. This park has 7 entry gates, 4 parking areas, 3 children’s play areas, boating, dance-stage, football field, tennis court.

Cycle track, jogging track, green belt spread in the park, lakes, sports center and playground, gymnasium, theme park, lawn, gondola, birds, small animals, fishes, amphibians etc. have been built in a different place.

Which makes this park different and better than all. Apart from this, a gentle and normal slope has been made from south to north in the site and more slope has been made towards the eastern and western sides. So that the rain water can flow out.

According to the master plan of Lucknow, this park comes under the green belt. Which was envisioned to create greenery around Lucknow Gomti Nagar and the city. Today, many flights and houses have been developed around this park.

Janeshwar Mishra Park looks longer and lesser in width. The length of this park is towards east and west and the width is towards north and south. This entire park is spread over 376 acres of land.

A 25 feet high statue of Late Shri Janeshwar Mishra has been installed at the main location of the park, so that it is visible from all corners of the park. The statue was designed and sculpted by Edward Breathitt, a renowned author, fine arts artist and sculptor. Edward Breathitt was born in Kentucky, USA, but now runs a successful studio and foundry in New Delhi, India.
